Elmer Online Course

The Elmer course is an online course. It has 30 teaching hours to be finished in 6 weeks. At the end of the course an aptitude certificate will be issued to the students who pass the course.

The students receive manuals in pdf format, video-tutorials and solved exercises. An online platform is available 24 hours/7 days a week. The teacher has experience with Elmer software.

The whole material (video-tutorials, exercises and texts) is available from the first day and there is no schedule. Video-tutorials are recorded. This enables each student to progress according to his learning pace.

The course structure is the following:
· 4 chapters about theory and solved exercises
· Obligatory exercises to pass the course
· Optional exercises to improve the level

Description

Proposed for:

Engineers, technical engineers, graduates in physics, scientists, teachers, students, and anyone interested in learning simulation software to solve multiphysics problems by FEM.

Objectives:

The aim of this course is obtain the necessary knowledge  to solve multiphysics problems of simulation (thermo-mechanical, thermoelectric, etc…)  helping us the Elmer software.

This course is oriented to anyone interested in Elmer software handling without previous knowledge.

General description of open source software Elmer:

Elmer is a software for FEA developed to solve numerical simulation problems in different areas (fluid-dynamics, linear and non-linear elasticity, …) and coupled problems (thermo-mechanical, thermo-electric, etc…). You can download it free at the website: www.csc.fi/web/elmer/elmer
